Help Vitaly fight Lyme disease

For those of you who have ever met or interacted with my brother Vitaly Sukhodolski, you know that he is the sweetest, funniest, most loving and selfless person you could ever meet. He is only 19 years old and his dream to be a pilot has been shattered all because of a small tick bite that transferred the borrelia bacteria which turned into three years of hardship and continues to be a life threatening health disease called neuroborreliosis (also more commonly known as Lyme disease).

Since being diagnosed in intensive care at a children's hospital in Ukraine three years ago, my brother was in a coma for 10 days, and after he woke up he came out with multiple dysfunctions and was half conscious for another week. During this time he was unable to eat, talk, stand up or even normally respond to simple interactions. He was diagnosed with stage three Lyme or also known as chronic Lyme disease which was caused by a tick bite. This disease caused immunodeficiency that has so far led to him having ongoing vitamin deficiency, bladder and liver damage.  His central peripheral nervous system also caused problems with his heart, eyes, nerves and swelling in his joints. The antiviral and antibiotic treatments, as well as, treatments to help boost his immune system needs to be given on a continuous basis.

If we stop or leave this problem untreated or inadequately treated, the disease will cause chronic symptoms that affect many parts of his body such as  multiple sclerosis, immune system failure, brain damage, heart disease, and other threatening neurological illnesses such as paralysis, negative effects in hormone production, further damage in his joints, numbness in his hands, legs and back, memory loss, and heart complications.

This journey, even with insurance, has cost us over $20,000 over the past three years for his treatments and travel. We have had to take him for treatment to Poland and Germany because of the lack of medical resources from our country Ukraine for this particular disease. Despite the extreme costs we were doing as much as we could to cover the expenses until the epidemic Covid-19 lead to my parents losing their income.

Now more than ever we need your help. In order for my brother to live we have to take urgent action and we need help to continue covering his medical expenses. Even $1 or 1 Euro would make a huge difference. We ask for your support to save a life, one that deserves a chance to recover.
