PL: Królik DOMOWY powinien być w DOMU! A tę bidulę ktoś wyrzucił do lasu na pewną śmierć. Błąkała się samotnie przez bardzo długi czas.

ENG: A DOMESTIC rabbit belongs at HOME! Yet someone abandoned this poor creature in the woods to face inevitable death. She had been wandering alone for a very long time.

PL: Wszystko zaczęło się, gdy sąsiad podczas spaceru z psem zauważył królika i spytał czy możemy pomóc. Natychmiast ruszyliśmy na poszukiwania, ale las jest ogromny i pierwszego i drugiego dnia wróciliśmy z pustymi rękami. Serce nam pękało. Na szczęście wydarzył się cud! Królik, szukając ratunku, wszedł na prywatną posesję. Ludzie, którzy ją złapali, początkowo chcieli ją zatrzymać, ale po paru dniach zmienili zdanie i przekazali ją w nasze ręce. Ruszyliśmy prosto do weterynarza.

ENG: It all began when a neighbour, whilst out walking his dog, spotted the rabbit and asked if we could help. We set off immediately to search for her, but the forest is vast, and on both the first and second days we returned empty-handed. Our hearts were breaking. Fortunately, a miracle happened! The rabbit, seeking safety, wandered onto private property. The people who caught her initially wanted to keep her, but after a few days, they changed their minds and handed her over to us. We rushed straight to the vet.

PL: Jej stan okazał się dramatyczny. Skrajne niedożywienie. Ta dorosła panienka ważyła zaledwie 1,640kg, sama skóra i kości!

Buzia i okolice pokryta kleszczami w wiekszosci tak malutkimi, że nadal je wyciągamy od piątkowego wieczoru.

Zarobaczona i zapchlona. Zęby i reszta wydawały się okej, ale później w domu zauważyliśmy, że bardzo mocno otwiera buzię i mlaszcze w trakcie jedzenia, więc od razu umówiliśmy wizytę stomatologiczną. Tego wieczora wypiła też prawie całą miseczkę wody!

ENG: Her condition turned out to be dire. She was severely malnourished. This adult female weighed a mere 1.640kg – nothing but skin and bones!

Her face and the surrounding area were covered in ticks, most of them so tiny that we’ve been pulling them out since Friday evening.

She was infested with worms and fleas. Her teeth and the rest seemed fine, but later at home, we noticed that she was opening her mouth very wide and smacking her lips whilst eating, so we booked a dental appointment straight away. That evening, she also drank almost a whole bowl of water!

PL: Śmiertelne niebezpieczeństwo. Brzuszek przestał działać! W sobotę rano apetyt drastycznie spadł. Co najgorsze, zauważyliśmy tylko parę mikro bobków po całej nocy... Dla królika brak bobków i zatrzymanie pracy jelit to wyrok śmierci w męczarniach. Zaczęliśmy dramatyczną walkę w domu. Dokarmianie karmą ratunkową (zjadała maksymalnie 2 ml), Espumisan, Meloxidyl (lek przeciwbólowy) oraz regularne, delikatne masaże zgazowanego brzuszka. Apetyt urósł, byliśmy dobrej myśli. Niestety, w niedzielę rano znaleźliśmy tylko jeden, mikroskopijny bobek. Apetyt zmalał, a ból zapoczątkował u niej agresję, dlatego od razu skierowaliśmy się na całodobówkę.

ENG: A life-threatening situation. Her tummy had stopped working! On Saturday morning, her appetite dropped dramatically. Worst of all, we only spotted a couple of tiny droppings after the whole night... For a rabbit, a lack of droppings and a blocked bowel is a death sentence involving great suffering. We began a dramatic battle at home. We fed her emergency food (she ate a maximum of 2 ml), gave her Espumisan, Meloxidyl (a painkiller) and gave her regular, gentle massages to her bloated tummy. Her appetite improved, and we were feeling optimistic. Unfortunately, on Sunday morning we found just one, microscopic poo. Her appetite waned, and the pain triggered aggression in her, so we headed straight to the 24-hour clinic.

PL: W klinice spędziliśmy ponad 8 godzin... Okazało się że mała ma bardzo przerośnięte zęby, wrzynają jej się w policzek, spod dolnego siekacza wypływa ropa, a na samej żuchwie można wyczuć deformacje. Wszystko to strasznie boli i utrudnia jej jedzenie, przez co pomimo dokarmiania w jelitach wykryto bardzo małą ilość bobków. Natomiast w samych bobkach wykryto krew. Badania krwi ujawniły tez anemie i spore problemy z nerkami. 

Mała bedzie potrzebowała rentgena i/lub tomografii, echo serca, kolejne badania krwi, zabieg na ząbki, a potem kontynuację leczenia nerek jak i sterylizacje (od 50% do 80% niewysterylizowanych samic dotyka rak macicy).

Za niedzielną wizytę zapłaciliśmy 900zł, a tyle jeszcze do zrobienia... 

ENG: We spent over 8 hours at the clinic… It turned out that the little one has severely overgrown teeth; they were cutting into her cheek, pus was oozing from beneath her lower incisor, and you could feel deformities in her lower jaw itself. All of this is extremely painful and makes it difficult for her to eat, which is why, despite being force-fed, only a very small amount of droppings was found in her intestines. Blood was also detected in the droppings themselves. Blood tests also revealed anaemia and significant kidney problems.

The little one will need an X-ray and/or a CT scan, an echocardiogram, further blood tests, dental treatment, followed by continued kidney treatment and spaying (between 50% and 80% of unspayed females develop uterine cancer).

We paid 900 zł for Sunday’s visit, and there’s still so much to do...

PL: Dlaczego błagamy Was o pomoc?

Na co dzień zajmujemy się ratowaniem kotów. Aktualnie mamy pod opieką aż 14! (nazywamy sie Oswajanko Dom Tymczasowy (@oswajankodomtymczasowy) i można nas znaleźć tutaj Instagram, Facebook) Jesteśmy też w trakcie ciężkich odłowień kolonii kotów przy opuszczonej kopalni. Część z nich wyszła FeLV+ (kocia białaczka - ciężka, nieuleczalna choroba), co sprawia, że koty nie mogą być wypuszczone na wolność po sterylizacji oraz generują potężne koszty. 

ENG: Why are we begging you for help?

We spend our days rescuing cats. We currently have as many as 14 in our care! (We’re called Oswajanko Dom Tymczasowy (@oswajankodomtymczasowy), and you can find us here on Instagram and Facebook) We’re also in the middle of a difficult trapping operation for a colony of cats near an abandoned mine. Some of them have tested positive for FeLV (feline leukaemia – a serious, incurable disease), which means the cats cannot be released back into the wild after being neutered and are incurring huge costs.

PL: NIE JESTEŚMY FUNDACJĄ. Wszystko robimy sami, praktycznie wszystkie koszty pokrywamy z własnej kieszeni. Wizyta na całodobowej klinice weterynaryjnej, badania, leki, nadchodzące leczenie stomatologiczne i sterylizacja królisi to koszty, których w tym momencie po prostu nie udźwigniemy.

ENG: WE ARE NOT A FOUNDATION. We do everything ourselves and cover virtually all costs out of our own pockets. A visit to a 24-hour veterinary clinic, tests, medication, upcoming dental treatment, and the rabbit’s neutering are costs that we simply cannot afford at the moment.

PL: Błagamy, pomóżcie nam uratować królisie. Ona już tak wiele wycierpiała. Każda złotówka, każde udostępnienie tej zbiórki to dla niej szansa na życie bez bólu. Dziękujemy za każde wsparcie i trzymanie kciuków!
