Afinogentov family recently visited us (me and Tykhonenko family) in Kraków and met with James Pratt from UK who came to Poland. James was one of people who supported them during first weeks. We spent a quality time together.
The Anfinogentov Family are refugees from Ukraine. They are relatives of Alina Smetanka, one of the refugees I host.
Iryna and the kids were in Alexandria when the war started. From February 24 to March 2, they stayed in Ukraine, most of the time they spent in the basement, hiding from shelling. On March 2, Irina with her children (the eldest son Alexander, 8 years old, the youngest son Maxim, 5 years old) left her hometown. They spent 52 hours on the road in the train, the younger one slept on a sports bag, the older one tried to sleep while sitting, the car was packed with people.
In Poland, Ira was saved by a family from Lodz, they gave shelter, helped to arrange children in a kindergarten and school. They even found a sports school for Sasha and the child has the opportunity to continue training, he plays football.
Their whole family, and especially Iryna's husband, who stayed in Ukraine, are very grateful to the people who helped them survive❤️
