Chapter I

                                                           "How she found it"

23rd July , in the morning, while taking a shower, young Dorota found a strange thickening on her right breast.

She became worried.

From then on, nothing would be the same.

                                                                            Chapter II

                                                                         "Diagnostics"

On 26th July , Dorota decided to quit her job and go to Opole Oncology for some more detailed diagnostics.

During the visit, the doctor proposes a fine needle aspiration biopsy.

Dorota, of course, accepts the test without suspecting that the tumor could be malignant.

The doctor asks about her profession and when he learns that she is from the medical industry, they have an informal conversation about the new prescription regulations.

Dorota leaves the office in a good mood, unaware of what awaits her.

                                                                     Chapter III

                                                                "Terrible truth"

6th August. Doris, slightly nervous, goes for fine needle biopsy to Opole Oncology.

When it was her turn, she was calm and ready to undergo the process.

In the office, she meets a very nice and smiling doctor.

The doctor became concerned about the ultrasound examination.

He called for consultation with another doctor and they agreed that the abnormal tumor is not suitable for fine needle aspiration.

They recommended a more invasive core needle biopsy.

Doris already knew what she would have to face...

                                                                  Chapter IV

                                                                  "Results"

16th August

Dorota, after many sleepless nights, goes to Opole Oncology to receive the results.

In the office she hears what she feared.

The result of the collected tissue material was undoubtedly terrifying.

Carcinoma invasivum NST (G3)

Advanced invasive cancer.

Young Dorota with wet eyes and slightly trembling hands only asked:

"What do we do next?"

The doctor, with downcast eyes, because it would be painful to tell the woman what she would have to go through, only said briefly:

Chemotherapy, surgery and obligatory radiation therapy.

This day was just the beginning of a long way to go.

                                                             Chapter V

                                                            "Metastasis"

22nd August.

Dorota goes to oncology again.

The radiologist performs a breast ultrasound and assessment of the state of the lymph nodes.

Dorota learns that there have already been metastases to the axillary lymph nodes.

The doctor decides that she needs to repeat the biopsy and the analysis, also from the metastasis.

The tumor was growing...

                                                                  Chapter VI

                                                                 "Consultation"

29th August,

Dorota goes to the medical consultation.

The team consisting of four doctors of various oncological specialties, after reading the results, decides:

Chemotherapy (4x AC, 12x Taxol at 2 week intervals). And after six exhaustive months of adverse reactions resulting from chemotherapy, surgery will be done.

There will be 2 months of radiotherapy after the procedure

"Fortunately, we can save the breast."

Doris, terrified, agreed to the proposed treatment.

                                                                 Chapter VII

                                                            "Let´s fight!"

7th September

Dora is going to the oncological surgery department to establish a marker for the tumor and lymph node.

9th September 

The terrified Woman begins the battle.

She begins the first cycle of chemotherapy.

SHE WILL NOT GIVE UP

The treatment will be long and expensive. Unfortunately, not everything will be refunded by the Polish national health system. We need to collect money for the nutrients and the vitamins necessary to alleviate the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, consultations with specialists and medicines to prevent infertility. The long rehabilitation after the procedure will also be very important. We have all the medical documentation and we can make it available at any time.
