I am so touched by all your kindness. I always believed in the goodness of people and the potential in all of us. Thank you to those I know and those I may not for directing your help to my region and trusting in me. People in Poland have been working hard to provide our new guests with everything they need. And they are alllll people like you. Regular people have organized most of the transportation, housing, donations, distribution. Thanks to the internet we have POWER. Power to come together and power to fight. Since our buying power is now larger than I expected, I have been sifting through a lot of information today / donation centers that have opened / shelters / border traffic and their needs there / where people are heading housing and transportation needs / access to the Ukrainian side where many people are waiting in lines for days and freezing. Things are happening at a very fast pace. I don’t have a car (I do have PEOPLE), but I drive a stroller that has more momentum than a bobsled. And luckily doesn’t use fuel which has been on high demand lately. The next few days I will be coming up with a plan of action / making purchases for essentials where necessary. Most donation centers are at capacity with the basic things so I have been in touch with the coordinators to see what are some other areas we could cover - perhaps with larger purchases - my coordinator friend said if you were thinking of buying a washer and dryer for the shelter you probably wanted to send the money so they can get it and I thought, she has no idea what my stroller can fit. I’ll send an update soon ! Ps. We will make a difference together and this transition for our dear women as smooth as possible. PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you have ANY ideas and suggestions. There is no task impossible for a mother to accomplish - kindest regards - Dina (photo from
Our local school housing 60 refugees since Sunday - they traveled 60 hours by bus to get here and had to leave behind 2 of their sons at the border who were over 18 as they are not allowed to leave)
