Help Victims of Cyclone IDAI

On the 15th of March, central eastern part of Mozambique was hit by „IDAI” – the strongest and most devastating cyclone in the modern history of the African continent.

 „Idai” has killed over a thousand people, and left hundreds of thousands without homes, this includes vast number of children.

Beira, second largest city in Mozambique, with over half a million inhabitants was destroyed in 90 %. Many people were forced to abandon their houses. This group includes many children and orphans, whom we want to deliver our help.

In the city of Beira and surrounding Dondo, there are two orphanages that were vastly destroyed by the cyclone. They are so desperate that any kind of help matters to them. We want to provide them with the necessities such as: drinking water, food, medication, as well as to restore their facilities.

We, as International Help Network, have been present in Mozambique for a decade. In that time we have helped local communities in many areas; building several water wells, providing support for kindergartens and schools. For many years we have focused on fighting malaria, equipping them with mosquito nets, rapid malaria tests and medication.

This time we are facing a grater challenge. We want to reach out to the children from Beira region, and to provide them with water purifiers, food and enable them to return safely to their orphanages.
