Children Community Centre

Younger Children Community Centre  – a friend of mine is a lawyer and a founder of a charity organisation called Piękne Anioły (Beautiful Angels) https://www.piekne-anioly.org/about-us They care about children from poor, often abusive families. They help by improving significantly the conditions of living, making over their rooms, houses (often without heating or running water). What is important for me in making this choice is the credibility of this association – they’ve been working since 2013, they work closely with local social welfare centers which help choosing the ones who need the help the most and also accountability of the association.

Action they intend to run now is aiming to help Ukrainian Moms find jobs – when refugees reach our country and they find accommodation next challenges are to find schools for kids and work for moms. Children need to be taken care of, without that moms can’t go to work. In one of the villages near Krakow, Piękne Anioły plan to open a community center for Ukrainian kids, a daycare for smaller kids and in afternoons also a place for elder kids to have lessons of Polish language, homework done, being in friendly place taken care of while moms work.

Association has already the space for first of such centers, what’s needed: furniture like desks and chairs, toys, games, stationary equipment, etc. to adapt the space to the needs. Rent of place is 340 Euro/month, teachers/staff which would be approx. 4 000 Euro/month (total for 3 pax, Ukrainian and Polish) and one-off expenditure on furniture/equipment which is approx. 3 400 Euro.

Plan is to raise money for this centre and then… hopefully open next ones.

All donations from this fundraiser will go in 100% to the purpose of creating the community centre.
