Marianka (94 y/o) is very lonely, but full of life person. Her life became very hard when she could not count only on herself anymore. Few years ago, she fell down while she was going back from shopping with heavy bags. For a long time she could not get up and people were passing by without helping her. The old lady remembers that situation with great regret and tears in her eyes. From that moment, her mobility problem began. Currently she can only count on a care from the Social Welfare Center, which helps her with daily duties. The old lady has not left the apartment for several years, due to her current health condition, and she lives on the fourth floor in an old building, which is an additional barrier. She moves around her tiny apartment using a walker. She walks from room to kitchen and calls it rehabilitation herself. Marianka lives on a pension which amounts to 1,500 PLN. After deducting the cost of housing (800 PLN) and charges for medicines and hygiene products (277 PLN), she has about 423 PLN per month for life.
The old lady, despite the problems with the simplest activities and the inability to leave the house, is a very positive person. She is very happy and cheerful. As she says, her greatest motivations are memories of her past years and dreams about her deceased husband. Marianka constantly emphasizes that she is in a difficult situation, but she realizes that there are families in a worse situation than her.
