Rhythm for Refugees - 2020

Rethinking Refugees (   https://www.facebook.com/rethinkrefugees2018) is a voluntary organization that aims to raise awareness of the situation of refugees globally. Our main humanise refugees it is through knowledge and action. We do this by organizing events, workshops, webinars, and conversations that facilitate collective action globally. We also provide a platform for refugees to take the stage. 

So far we have organized over 15 events and this year-2020 a multitude of webinars including the first-ever global online festival -  We started off as a team of 1 and have now grown to 10 members! We are now in the process of establishing this as an official foundation. Here you can have a look at a reportage of two of our events. 

The event -Rhythm For Refugees is an annual event organized by us wherein every year the proceeds of the event are donated to a nonprofit or refugee group in need. In 2018 we sent it to help refugees in Moria, in 2019 towards helping refugees along the Bosnian border. 

We decided this year that donate money to an NGO in Lebanon Basmeh Zeitooneh (https://www.basmeh-zeitooneh.org/).   We chose Lebanon because the country has been in an economic recession, a political turmoil but also the Beirut blast earlier this year has made it even harder for refugees living in Lebanon.

The event will take place on 18.12 and 19.12. Here is a brief outline of the event:

18/12 - Together with our partner in Krakow, Poland - Alchemia, local musicians will join us in Alchemia and the concert will be live-streamed to our Facebook page.

19/12 - We will have artists joining us from all over the world through the platform ZOOM. Artists include musicians, poets, and visual artists. Moreover, visual artists will create a piece of art live which will then be up for auction.

If you donate over 100 Euros (>444 ZL) =You get an original HANDMADE ceramic pottery created just for Rhythm For Refugees
