Help Refugees in Krakow

Hello family and friends,

As some of you may know – we moved to Krakow, Poland almost two years ago and we’ve been very grateful to be living in this beautiful city. We never would have thought that in 2022, on top of the pandemic, we would witness an outbreak of war in our neighboring country, Ukraine. It has been emotional reading the news daily and mostly feeling angry, helpless, and sad. It’s been 2 weeks+ since the invasion of Ukraine and according to the news (Mar 11), there've been 1.5 mln refugees who have arrived in Poland. I’m sure you’ve seen on the news the amount of support and help that the Poles have been providing. It is truly so heartwarming to see humanity at its best.

We live next to the main train station of Krakow and we go there daily for our grocery shopping. Seeing the station floor filled with refugees is heartbreaking. It hits you differently when you watch it on the news and see it in person.

Some of you have asked us ways you could help the cause, and since we are planning to donate necessary things ourselves, we thought that with your help we could get more. Therefore, if you are abroad and would like to help but don’t know how – here’s an option. We will be using the money that you will be donating to purchase essentials needed daily in various refugee centers/train station/etc. The needs change per hour so we’ll closely monitor various forums and news to check what and where is needed and will donate accordingly. Also some of our friends here are helping to set up apartments/start a new life here for Ukrainian families and we will try to help them as well.

We will be posting the receipts and photos of delivery once we get going!
