Pushkin is a 9 year old Maltese dog. It weighs 4 kg. Purchased as a gift for a little girl, he lived with his family throughout his life. The girl grew up, went to college and took the dog with her. Unfortunately, it turned out that Pushkin has a very strong separation anxiety. He cannot stay alone at all, and his way of walking began to raise doubts about good health. Pushkin's owner decided to give it back. After 9 years, Pushkin had to leave his family, people and home, which he knew from a small age. Pushkin came to a lady who immediately consulted him with her veterinarian. It turned out that, apart from systematic vaccinations and deworming, Pushkin was very neglected in health, he had practically no tests, his teeth were in a tragic condition and, worst of all, there were serious orthopedic problems. Because the costs associated with veterinary care were so high that the new carer was not able to meet them, she decided to contact us and asked to take over the dog. In this way Pushkin came under our protection. A lovely dog, well-groomed from the outside, you can immediately fall in love with such ... Unfortunately, the truth was as follows - A huge separation anxiety that no one has informed us about. Pushkin can't leave home alone. He can howl for a few hours. For this he is a resource and territorial dog, he can use teeth. It wasn't his fault, he just wasn't a scholar since he was a child, his upbringing was completely neglected. Currently, he requires a lot of work, which greatly limits his chance of finding a home. However, the biggest problem is Pushkin's health and related costs Pushkin has been castrated, the stone has been removed from his teeth, several have been lost, ultrasound is also done after consultation with the orthopedist. He was consulted with two orthopedic surgeons at the Animal Center in Warsaw and Legwet in Legionowo. The opinions were the same and unambiguous ... DIAGNOSIS: - advanced coxartosis - advanced degenerative changes in the knee joints with bilateral instability - suspected sporadic dislocation of the patella, advanced bile reconstruction RECOMMENDATIONS: - Supplementation - Rehabilitation every 3-6 months for a permanent lifetime in a series of 7-10 meetings - laser therapy for hip, knee or ankle joints. -TENS on the pelvic floor - a water treadmill to maintain the best muscular status possible, swimming in summer if possible. - Body weight as low as possible but muscle-saving. - Noltrex injections are also recommended at the beginning, about 1-2 times a year Injections are recommended. However, the length of action cannot be guaranteed, because each dog reacts differently and may be enough for a few months or even up to 2 years. However, you will have to watch everything ... there is no rule ... Due to the advanced condition of the patient, causal treatment is rather doomed to failure. Conservative treatment is based on the inhibition of symptoms, physiotherapy, injections and adequate maintenance of the patient. Given his expensive health problems and major behavioral problems as well as his age and the fact that he is no longer the youngest, his chances of adoption are close to zero. One proposal of adoption did not affect the nave, everyone is terrified of Pushkin's costs and behavioral problems. In all this misfortune and turmoil in Pushkin's life, a light of hope shone. The caretakers from the temporary home where he is staying loved him, with all the baggage of his behavioral and health problems, and he loved his temporary carers immensely. They would love to adopt him, however, the costs associated with rehabilitation and injections are beyond their financial possibilities. They look after two older dogs and one who also has orthopedic issues. 

The only solution is adoption, in which the foundation will take on the costs associated with Pushkin's orthopedic care. We are a small foundation, we take care of a lot of animals, that's why we turn to you for help for Pushkin. This is the only chance for this poor pooch to stop wandering and finally to have loving devoted guardians and guaranteed orthopedic care that will help him enjoy his life for a long time. The amount we want to collect is the amount of €2500 for the next two years of treatments and injections, as well as one series of treatments and one injection this year.
