Autism is TREATABLE - help Klara

Klara was born as a perfectly healthy baby. Up to 18 months she was developing normally, she was chatting, making visual and verbal contact with us, she enjoyed plying. Then suddenly things started to change. We were “losing her” day by day. She forgot the words that she had been taught before, stopped playing with us, she did not looked at us or respond to our call. She started spinning around, looking away or giggling for no reason.

And it started. Visits to numerous specialists and subsequently the diagnosis that we were hoping not to hear… Autism.

First there were thousands of questions and shed tears but we had to bounce back and get down to hard tasks. Firstly – research, secondly – treatment, thirdly – diet, and last, but not least – intense therapy. Autistic children will not learn to say “daddy” straight away. You have to repeat that a few hundred times over a long period of time and then do everything in order for her not to forget it. The therapist comes to her daily and they exercise bravely several hours a day. And most importantly… there are effects!!!

The problem with treatment is that there are only 3 doctors in Poland who are specializing in biomedical treatment of such children. Waiting time for such an appointment – several months. Costs of visits and medicines – horrendous. Drugs and supplement are usually ordered from abroad. The effects of such treatment may appear in the following months but may also be visible only in few years. Additionally, almost no specialized examination is to be reimbursed by Polish National Health System.

Homeopathy is our another hope. Detoxification is not so expensive but very time consuming.

Therapy – a few hours a day working with a child is unfortunately also not cheap. And on top of that there is the diet. Healthy food – that technically should be cheaper than “junk food”, in the real world is a few times more expensive. Klara also do not tolerate gluten as well as dairy products.

Everything together costs us several thousand zlotys a month, which could be between 1 and 1.5 thousand of pounds.

But we do not give up. We are not wealthy and undoubtedly we need money to face this illness. There is hope because there are cases in the world as well as in our country of cured children – thanks to comprehensive approach – diet + treatment + therapy.

That is why we are not going to give up!! We cannot!!

We want Klara to be independent, so that when we will no longer be around she can manage by herself. Therefore as long as I live I will fight for her and for her future.
