The lives of hundreds of horses are in your hands. 500 horses are begging for help...
“The tree which fills the arms grew from the tiniest sprout. A hundred miles of journey begins with one small step” - Lao Tzu.
The modern world is rushing at a crazy pace. Somewhere in this rush, there are we – people. Everyone, no exceptions. Everyone's in a hurry somewhere, chasing something. Everybody wants something and everybody dreams of something. Haste does not allow us to stop and look further, beyond the horizon. A man suffers from a lack of time, love and hope. He asks himself, where is this world going? Where will it lead him? And what is all this for? But we only stop once grey hair has covered our head and we find time to reflect.
When has selflessness ceased to be a value and when has selfishness crept into our everyday life? It is difficult to find someone who, without expecting anything in return, selflessly helps others. It must all be worth our time! The modern world... increasingly hostile. It often causes us suffering, because it has never been the natural state for people.
And it seems that only animals have accompanied man for hundreds of thousands of years. It seems that only animals are capable of unconditional love and loyalty. Often forgotten, condemned to loneliness, they die in silence, longing for man.
And now it's time to stop. In this crazy world, do something that will change the fate of 500 horses. Here, in central Europe, in Poland, there is the largest horse asylum on the old continent. All you need to do is give them 1 Euro. Are you wondering why? The small amount you're offering will give them a kilo of oats. We will not change the whole world or feed all starving animals. But that doesn't mean we can't try to help where we can do it in one minute, not taking much away from ourselves. We need oats for almost 500 horses in our care. By making a donation to ensure their mangers are full, you'll start that hundred mile journey Lao Tzu was talking about.
Maybe the one small step you take towards us won't fill the whole silo. But together we can do it. Because strength lies in all of us.
Where are the horses from? From all over Europe. Because Poland pays well and comes first in terms of export of horses for slaughter. Among the survivors there are breeding horses that have grown old. You'll find horses that were used for sport that are now worn out. There are also horses unchained from carriages, which no longer have the strength to pull them. There are also pet horses that people got bored of. And horses that were pets until they got sick, or they got old. There are also those who were born on special farms just to die. They all got one sentence. And thanks to the support of people from all over the world - they have been bought out and found their way to Zwierzęcy Folwark, in Poland, near Wrocław.
If everyone who has a look here makes a one-Euro donation, a miracle can happen. We'll provide our horses with full silos this winter. And then this one-hundred-mile journey will make sense. It will mean something. We're not asking for much. We're not asking you to give all your assets to the rescued horses. We're not asking you to cancel your holiday, shopping with your family or an evening party. We're not asking you to deny yourself anything. That's not the point. That's not what helping is about. We are asking you to look beyond the horizon. Look deeper, more clearly. To see what is not visible to the naked eye.
In a world full of hurry and tension you can feel light and joyful, and this may be the most beautiful thing you will get today. It is this one good deed that will fill your heart full of hope that our world can be better tomorrow. Because when we unite, we can change it, even if it’s only a small part of it. A part that represents the whole world to our horses. They need support. And their basic need we need to fulfil with is an ordinary bucket of oats poured into their manger and a piece of land to run around every day.
Your and our horses. Each of them different, each of them in need. Sick and old, they have little hope.
After saving them, nobody remembers them anymore, they disappear from the media, disappear from the home page, drop down lower on Facebook. And yet they are still alive and need care, and economic problems do not spare them. You have to breathe new hope into them, more hope that we all care about them. Our horses eat 60 tons of oats per month. Sometimes more, sometimes less. We know it's a lot. But together we can fill a whole silo, or a few of them. Or maybe there'll be a surprise for the animals. Maybe they'll all get filled up.
So we want to go crazy - and raise money for 180 tons of oats, which is a 3-month supply. There hasn't been a campaign like that yet. Is it a lot? Because there's a lot of horses. After all, no one in Europe has saved as many horses as you have, because over 1000! Will you join us? Just one Euro and you'll feel like walking on clouds, because nothing gives you wings like the feeling that something selfless has happened today!
